Actually if tethered and non-locking is important then only the genuine part seems to have the tether. Dan at Duckworths will be cheaper than MUD though.

Do what I do
Have the cap key on your normal keyring, you would never leave the Landy unlocked whilst you pay for diesel, so in theory ![]() So says the idiot who put petrol in the TD5 |

Just recently I've been wondering why, aside from the ability to catch mud, the filler cap on the defender is recessed the way it is. I've been considering making up an alloy plate with tapered edges (to make it less obvious), painting it body colour and attaching it permanently over the recess. I'd extend the filler tube and fit an aero cap such as this which is practically flush so perfectly legal. I think it would look pretty good and I'd never have to clean mud out of that recess again. |

That's what I have heard about a load of them
They are a good idea in principle but execution is flawed, unless somebody else has an opinion on them |

I would be interested in one of the Optimill ones too!
I would be even more interested though if they could do one without 'Optimill' engraved into the side! |

I knew I'd seen one before. Its from Exmoor Trim. See below link. A lot of money for a bit of chain and bracket!
http://www.exmoortrim.co.uk/cap-for-fuel-filler-section.html With the capabilities of these machine shops its a shame they haven't come up with a complimenting holder/door, especially if it had miniature hinges similar to the Doors!!! |
