I always do it that way before the APK (MOT).
My procedure: Put the handbrake on to see how many clicks I have. Take the handbrake off. Get under the 90 with the right socket. Oops wrong one, get the right one. Get under the 90 again and tighten it and lossen it again 1 quarter. Get in the 90 put the handbrake on again and check for the clicks. Take the handbrake off again a drive a little to hear if it makes noices and off to the APK (MOT). Or even quicker is what I do just before MOT time.
Take the handbrake off, get underneath and tighten about 1/2 a turn... er thats it. its usually enough to reduce the travel of the lever just enough - you don't want it too tight and I always leave it in gear anyway. |
