Just re-read through this thread - apologies for so many typos! iPad tends to like to type for me and then gets it wrong.

Today, I've purchased Noldens in black with position lights along with the little loom things for the sidelight.
And two Land Reigziger looms, with plastic connectors. (As suggested, no point in Ceramic unless the load is 100w Halogen.)
55w is all that is road legal in Halogen head light anyway and LED less heat produced.

The Land Reiziger looms are out of stock, but I expect they can sort that out and no immediate rush.

My aim is to wire back to the battery with a good grade permanent live. Probably 2mm thinwall or similar, inside a small bore un-slit convoluted tube.
Fit an in-line fuse & holder near the battery for now, at a later date fit a BlueSea fuse box, then I'm sorted.
Accessible, safe, and reliable with the voltage gain and load taken off the switch.

Why going through the trouble of wiring through the firewall all the way to the battery if you can wire to a permanent live on the alternator in the engine compartment where you need to be anyway? That alternator permanent live is in direct contact with the battery anyway, so why bother making it more difficult? No advantage at all.
Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Fuse placement is better access and avoids messing around with the alternator.
Just my preferred method to keep everything located where I want it.

I've got a feed coming through anyway through the bulkhead so I can easily follow with another. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️
