Does anyone know if these will fit behind the SVX headlight surrounds? If they do I think I'm going to get saving up!

yes they will but you have a few options for side lights .... the JWS8700s (LED Headlights) don't have a side light so I am planning on replacing the spot light unit (90mm) for one with a sidelight bulb in it (as well as the spot light), they are available from hella. then it's a case of relocating the side light to the spot and fitting the 8700's = happy driving at night, but hella are also launching a LED headlight this year so I am sitting on my wallet for a while.

another option is to fix e marked side lights or doing the DRL thing ... or having the headlights come on with the ignition .. not sure about all the legalities of these options.

Thanks for that BPman. I'd completely forgotten that the SVX headlights contain the sidelight too, hence having to perfom a secondary modification. I like your idea about changing the drving lamp for one with an integral sidelight although being Hella units they're probably a bit pricey I suspect. I may wait too to see what their LED headlights are like.

the 90mm spot lights with side lights - here are the details from the hella web site

Part no: 1K0 247 043-001 Headlight

EAN 4082300246582
Status Normal
Packing Unit 1
Trade Numbers E1 2397

Criteria:
Number of light functions 2

the hella web site is not easy to navigate but this looks to be the correct unit, or course the other option is to "manually" fit the sidelight unit to the existing 90mm unit without breaking it ...

Hi
any one fitted LED lights to there defender as yet? mjust got my self a pair, and there the dogs so to speak. the std lights on my SVX where good. the HID bulbs that i fitted, although illegal, where an improvement, but these are just amazing.
price not cheap, but well worth the spend if you intend to keep your defender or are thinking of buying a replacement defender.
will try and posts some poics of these when i work out how to.

Hi could I see a picture of what they look like on your SVX. Was thinking about some of these for mine
