Alarm Sounder - can you silence it

So I have tried to sort out the intermittent fault that sets off my alarm without much success.
I have changed all the door and bonnet switches and disconnected the volumetric sensor.

I use the alarm to activate the central locking. SO the question is can one disable the sounder but retain the function of the alarm to operate the locking.

Goodness knows shat after 17 year has now started to give this problem!

It could be a poor connection between the BBUS and the loom? I would check for corrosion or a break in the wire. The sounder might think it is being unplugged and therefore go off?

If you turn the key in the door it should operate the central locking without the alarm I think
