Pretty underwhelmed with the blackvue 2 channel one I bought very recently. For 200 and something notes I would expect an internal GPS, the ability to flip and/rotate the rear picture (it's useless as a reversing cam without that feature) and the screen mount clipped in from the top means that the mount has to be well down the screen to allow you to remove it. having connections both sides is also a pita.
On the upside the picture quality is good. V8 90...WIP |

The footage I shared earlier in this thread HERE resulted in the Defender driver's insurer claiming it was knock-for-knock on the basis that the jeep and horse trailer was not on their side of the road at the time of the collision.
I had shared my details with the Jeep driver and told them I had footage of the accident should it be needed and their insurer got in touch. After the footage had been shared, the Defender driver accepted 100% responsibility because it was evident they were out of control and careered into the Jeep which had veered onto the verge to avoid the oncoming vehicle. It is for this reason I have a dashcam - people have a tendency to stop lying and start acknowledging fault when they know they have been recorded. As for speed, GPS, audio etc, I haven't bothered as these would really come into play in a really serious incident and speed can be calculated from the footage (time to pass milestones which can be measured by the Police if absolutely necessary). So long as it records what happened in good enough quality for a judgement to be made - it'll do and after that, cost of the camera becomes the next consideration... Phil |

I have the Blackvue 600GW-HD Front camera and its great apart from every now and again it throws a wobbly and wont shut up!!! "Audio recording stopped" Audio recording started" over and over and over until I pull the plug in anger.
I cant see any way of shutting the blasted voice off. |

Normally on the 650 you wave your hand on the left side and a sensor turns either recording on or off. Is the 600 the Same?

It's easy enough to turn off audio recording, it is one of the configuration parameters you can set using the Blackvue software on your PC, once saved to the microSD card it will be off by default.
It can also be turned on or off by touching or brushing your fingers past the left hand end of the camera. If you have something in close proximity to the left of the camera (sun visor perhaps) it might be causing your issue. |

Thanks guys, I'll take a look at the software and try the waving thing Maybe its because I'm in a LHD car so it could be picking my movements up if the sensor is on the left?

Not many on here will understand why I say this, but it is not really standard equipment though... Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |
