yeah there is pal, you can just bolt those off and buy replacement ones. Me and my dad done his 200 tdi, I cannot remember how much the panels were, he got them from yrm metals It did take us a couple of days to do, we had other things to sort out in the process.
When we fitted the replacement panels, We had moved everything up more closer than it was! buy at least good 5mm on the bulkhead side. http://www.yrm-metal-solutions.co.uk/epage...s/078-0001 Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it! |

Just took a look at the bolts underneath and it looks a little on the scary side. I wonder if the corrosion can be sanded out and repainted or is this just creating a problem later down the line.

all you are doing really is putting off the problem for a little longer, Don't worry about the bolts, give them a soaking with some good quality release oil, and get your self a selection of sockets and spanners. All will be ok, even you snap them you can get replacements for the sill anyway. My dad bought some fancy stainless steal cover thing with some bolts which went though the full works.
Its not a of a job at all, it may take some time due how dirty things are there, I remember the main pain was the long main bulkhead bolt. But again as long as you do some good prep/clean up all will be ok. My dad always seems to forget this and things end up turning into a nightmare of a job. I managed to save the day with this job, his had really bad rot on the rear tub side where the sill goes ( watch for that too but again YRM do replacement panels for this) All we did was clean off and rivet and bond the new replacement panels into place. If I hadn't stepped in with the idea of sorting it out the way we did, Christ knows what would have happened. Even though it may sound like a bodge but again its miles better than it was! just remember to put a piece of plastic between alu panel and the sill. We spent more time offering up and checking and adjusting, Until he was happy. After that we were flying with the driver side! We did remove the seat box too but again that needed new sides installing and a new battery box. So it was more than a sill replacement, but again rivets and bond. I tell you what that battery box is the driest part of the front end at the moment But like I say again its not a hard job pal, and in fact it will save you a fortune, just bolting on the new sill. Thanks Procta, good advice. Looks like I'm going to have to man up and get in with it!
One thing though, did you say that you replaced the sill in a 200? From what I can see, the replacement part for a 110 is t-shaped like the photo below which means door removal I'm guessing? |

not to sure on the 110 side of things as one in this link says it fits the 110 too, Sounds like its in two halves to me. or its longer, I cannot see you going to that extreme of fitting the T piece and other panel you shown me.
Might be best checking out a 110 rebuild on here, just to make sure. Here is the link to the part i am talking about. http://www.yrm-metal-solutions.co.uk/epage...s/078-0001 Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it! |

My dads had a double check with me with some photos of a 110 rear tub, looks like the 90 and 110 share the same inner sill piece. The photo you have there looks like its a full replacement panel. Still working on seeing if its any different for you. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
