As most will know, I'm not a big fan of the RAF but it seems that they have performed at last.
It seems that the RAF left a little something behind only for it to be found this year http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-40...-bomb.html 110 D250 SE HT 110 USW SOLD RRE HSE Dynamic Gone, wife killed it VOLVO XC60 R Dynamic with some toys Polaris RZR 900XP SOLD |

I have endless respect for all armed forces, the loss of life on these long range bombing missions into occupied europe was incredible as the Nazi's had very good AAA guns and also good aircraft which picked the Lancasters, B17's etc off one by one, sometimes only one would return!
Amazing how a bomb that big would lie dormant for so long! 2008 Santorini Black 110 XS USW (Sold) 2015 Discovery 4.5 Black pack Firenze red XS 2008 Corris Grey 110 XS USW (sold) 2011 Santorini Black 110 XS USW (Sold) |

A WW2 bomb was found close to where I live, this is going back to about 2003? That was found when they were doing the foundations for some centre I think.
From what I was told the digger nearly put the scoop into the thing Until one of the lads said hang on, that looks like a bomb! The full area was evacuated and they set it off down the beach, they waited till practically the middle of the night to set it off. The area where the bomb was found was close to where the local ship yards used to be. |
