Making really good progress now. All the interior wiring is now done, I can sleep much better now I have everything soldered nicely. Got the second row recaros back in and also fitted the autobiography pull handles. Just waiting for the leather to arrive

^ Plus one
I would love that engine, realistically what will it do on a run? 60 mph would 25mpg be a dream away? Appreciate once you start playing 20 would probably be a rare sight probably low teens? |

If it did 25 mg at 60 mph that's pretty good,
If I did fine a tree at the bottom of the garden then we do long trips every now and again and so that would not be toooooo bad. Does it have a larger tank also so the range is the same? |

If ya're gonna run an engine like this, you shouldn't be worrying about fuel economy.
I've had a few V8s, ..tell you what,.....I've NEVER worried about fuel economy,...EVER. Sure, I check what MPG I'm getting, but extra fuel use simply is what happens with a V8, but there are some very special benefits. We had a 1985 Ford Bronco (351 Cleveland V,...it used to get about 9MPG,...and it had a 121 litre fuel tank,....I must admit that 9MPG was a bit hard to take at times!! IMHO 25mpg @ 60mph is optimistic. Pickles. |

That interior, that engine, just amazing! So not letting my kids see those Recaros!
As for mpg my old 3.5 V8 90 used to do about 9-12mpg but it was fun (when it worked). With the millage I do 20 mpg I could live with,
A colleague of mine had a E55 Estate when I had a E320Cdi version, He was getting 14 Mpg.... I would find that hard to live with.... Mine (with a Brabus D6 box would do 40 minimum) I appreciate the sound and power you would have to pay at the pumps but on longer road trips I would like it to have some range... In my younger years owning sports cars with small tanks in Europe is a pain... Filling up at 200 - 225 mile is not great.... But your right turning it on must be |

All this talk of mpg.
I think Mr mcma should do it honourable thing and let me see what mpg I can achieve in it. Tell you what I'd happily run it in and do a few economy runs in it - 18 months should do it |

I'm sure when he has done 1000 miles he is more than able to get low teens,,, or even single figures...

"Range"?!!..When We had the Bronco, we decided to go ro Mildura about 550ks from Melbourne, so we filled her up before we left,.... 121L!!..& thought we would get more fuel along the way, but as we left early in the morning, all of the servos in the small towns were closed, and the way the Bronco drank fuel, we could almost see the fuel guage gradually moving down,...at one stage, almost on empty, we thought we'd have to stop, to wait for a servo to open, but we got one in the nick of time!! But it was all good fun, the Bronco with its 351V8 & dual exhausts was a pretty mean machine!! Pickles. |

Getting close now.
Ged called over today and we got stuck in. Removed all the hubs, springs, dampers, exhaust, anti roll bars etc. Will make it much easier now to prep the underside for the buzzweld.
