I appreciate the link but I've heard horror stories regarding KC registered breeders. I was hoping for a personal recommendation. DON'T PANIC

One way is to go to a Championship dog show (probably none until 2017) and ask around. You can find out where and when shows are at the previous link.
You could contact Pat Sutton ( details under Surrey on previous link). Not sure if she still breeds beagles but will be able to point you in the right direction. You're right to be careful but I'd suggest that more KC Assured Breeders are reputable than not. Make sure you can go and see their premises where any pups should be with the mothers. Robert |

Oh, and beware of anyone saying they are KC Registered Breeders. Anyone can register a dog at the KC but they need to be accredited to be a KC Assured Breeder.

Can I suggest looking at the Beagle Club website if you haven't already?
There's lots of info on there and most clubs will have a puppy liaison person who will steer you in the right direction as regards better breeders and avoiding rogues. Good luck and if I can offer one piece of advice it is this. February is not that long away so it's possible that if you like a breeder you may want to go on their list and wait a bit longer as opposed to rushing in to something which is not quite right. |
