Installing rear interior light in 2.2 90 HT
I bought a rear headlining at the Stoneleigh show from Phil at OEM and of course it has a hole in it for the interior light which I have now ordered and am happy to use as a dummy to plug the hole, but would be better if I could make it work.

I'm assuming I will also need the mounting bracket VUU500440?

There is a switch in the rear and it is wired, but what would I need to do to connect to the new light in the headlining?

Can't find it from a search but assume there might be a loom as there appears to be for the front one.

Please no technical wiring drawing, as I will not understand them Confused Rob

Complete electrical numpty here but... does the front interior light come on with the rear door? If so can't you just wire in series to the front one? James

Ditto. Good question and I should have said - but no it doesn't, so thanks for prompting me to clarify.

The front light should come on with the rear door...
And you mean in parallel. If you wire them in series then each one will get 6V (nominally).

Aaaarg Embarassed it does! Forgot I turned it off due to the glowing led issue, sorry.

But, the question still remains how are they 'factory' wired?

When I fitted a second interior Mud LED light over the second row seats in my DC, I simply connected it in parallel to the exisiting front row Mud LED light, so each of the three terminals is connected to the same terminal of the other light.

This means that they come on together from the AS10 (ie unlock, engine off, and door opening) and can be switched individually between AS10, OFF, and ON. Simple, and works a treat.

Ok, sounds good, thanks. I had assumed there may be an off the shelf loom, but please advise to do a proper job what wire and connectors I should be looking to get Rolling Eyes

Thanks.

I added a third interior light in my 110 SW, I put one over the second row seats in addition to the one by the interior mirror and one at the very back in the cargo area. I was finding the second row seats were very dark and the extra light is very welcome. All that I did was to tap into the wires that were allready above the roof lining going from front to back. I am using leds with no hassle.

I'd use crimp splices myself. Quick, easy, good joints.
