I tried that to. In the end the AA turned up and had to break the yellow cap of than then get the stilsons out to remove the actual bung.
I filled it with fuel before we put the cap/plug back together, now it doesn't ratchet or indeed over tighten. Russell 2011MY 110 XS USW Black |

another 260 miler today. did'nt miss a beat.
had one slightly scarey moment going south on the M11. a truck pulled out of a lay-by in front of me when i was doing just under 70 and hit the brakes really hard. it weaved a bit in the lorry wheel trenches but i that that was me over steering a bit as i thought about moving out to lane 2 but it was full. no real drama just a a few choice words to the imbecile in front..........this was about 4:30 and i had my lights on so no excuse for the muppet not seeing me BM52 |

Filled up last night...... £101.43 Ahhhhhhh!!!! It was empty and I did use BP Ultimate, but that is the first time I have gone over £100
Scangauge reported last tank at 27.4mpg (imperial) on BP Ultimate, (423 miles from one tank full), mostly driving was Chester to Pembrokeshire on A483 / A40 a bendy & hilly route so good mpg but high £/mile (I was carrying no weight). 130 Puma HCPU with an Artica 240LR Demountable Camper |

Steering felt a little heavy this morning. Put it on the ramp, track rod bent in two places and also bent n/s rear anti roll bar mount. Those pesky yorkshire rivers and their rocks, and the best bit is I wasn't even driving at the time <wail>

Good grief I thought you had sumo bars.
I've just fixed an electrical fault on mine - so I've been gradually putting the dash board back in. |

Fitted the Parrot MKI9200 and can confirm it works fine on the motorway, set up with a Brodit mount on the central air vent and pass-through brodit iPhone4 holder running tom tom.
Excellent set-up, makes the XS stereo sound great with direct iPhone connection through Parrot and no more alternator wine from the aux in. Job took about an hour all in. Happy to post pics if anyone wants to see.... Pics and more details here > http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic5532.html?highlight= Last edited by carlaac on 12th Feb 2011 12:33pm.
