Looking good, those engines are a common sight in Aussie,.....but not in a Defender! You are going to have an unremoveable smile on your face when you "put the pedal to the metal" for the first time! Looking good! Are you still picking it up this week? Because I don't think the bonnet will shut with those pipes stuck out Ray

I was wondering about that recently. Aren't brakes' performance inherently reliant on tyre grip. With this in mind, and given most of us drive big, treaded tyres (MCMA's look like BFGs), isn't traction likely to fail long before the full effectiveness of a big brake kit is realised? More so in less than perfect conditions? Just 'throwing it out there'' for debate... Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

Fair point. The bbk is just something that you should consider and I have. Steady run home is the plan. Currently in the airport with a pint of Guinness. Great road trip! Oliver that owns wildcat is coming up to stay in the hotel so I can pic his brains this evening Andy

The BBk and any that I've installed aren't mainly for more brakes, they do provide extra brake effort but it's more about feel and pedal effort to achieve the desired braking force and also reducing fade if racing or braking for constant periods
If your mashing the pedal down to get stopped you will have much less feel then if your just pressing lightly to get the same force at the wheels. Which allows you to modulate the brake better especially on the edge of traction. They also tend to be far more consistant than std brakes. Oh and they look class lol 😁 |
