They seem OK field of light is good just seems strange nobody reacts when you drive on full beam .
To be honest I don't think they are brilliant especially how expensive they are . |

I think they give a very clear light, but give a large spread.
Would I buy them again ? Definitely not at list price ! But I bought s/h unused cheap and more than likely would not buy again |

Without proper headlight alignment done you will find the beam all over the place.
Take it to an MOT testing station and ask for headlight alignment to be done, I'm sure they'll be happy to do it for a few quid. If still no good then I don't know what else to say. I wanted to get a pair of these, but agree the price is astronomical. Bang for buck I'd have thought E marked eBay units would be good. No Guts, No Glory. 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

I'd get the head light alignment done as they are well worth it when pointing in the right direction. COTAG 4x4 Response

When you change headlights, what ever you do you will put out the beam adjustment.
That will affect main, dipped the lot. You could have one skyward and the other facing the floor, they vary in nature of mane and model. For UK spec dipped light spread is higher and wider to the left. To avoid dazzle. Chances are the RH headlight is aimed at the floor. None the less you shouldn't be trying to dazzle another driver anyway. I met one the other day in a lane who kept main beam on permanently even when I reversed and tried to past. Needed the sun visors in the dark to avoid being dazzled. No Guts, No Glory. 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

No attempt to dazzle other drivers didn't realise i had them on high beam and nobody was flashing so kept them on when i did realise and nobody on a 30 mile motorway trip flashed back .
So you suggesting the headlights are not correctly set up and not a feature of Nolden LED |

Yes, not the lights but the aim adjustment on the Defender which is on the headlight mounting rings.
(Not height switch on centre dash.) There are two screws on the retaining rings that affix the lights in place. One is a permanent fixture screw, the other two on each light is for adjustment. In MOT testing stations they have equipment to accurately adjust the beam andgle and adjustment. It's only a screwdriver job, so on the Defender it's easy as pie and a quick job. It's an MOT fail too, if not adjusted correctly but will be corrected normally FOC. So I'd suggest if you have height adjustment on your defender on dash set it to 0 or normal height and then find an MOT testing station and ask them if they could adjust the headlight beam angle adjustment for you. (On the headlight retaining rings.) Then once complete, hopefully your issue sorted and if you carry a load at a later date you can adjust your headlight height on dash as normal. Hope that makes sense. Time for bed. No Guts, No Glory. 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

There is a big differences in light output and beam pattern between dipped beam and main beam on Noldens
I drive regularly using Noldens and our approach road is narrow, straight and unlit. Dipped beam lights up the road closed to the vehicle and typical of LED headlights has a sharp cutoff. Main beam has a much longer range. Yes have occasionaly been flashed, normally on quiet motorways IF original headlights are correctly adjusted then it is possible to change headlights without touching the adjustment. So main possibilities are original headlights were badly adjusted which seems unlikely OR whoever fitted the Noldens did NOT know how to change headlights. I would suggest that whoever fitted the lights messed with the adjustment screws. Also I would suggest that the headlights are checked to see if the three retaining clips are in place. Reason being that if whoever changed the lights did not know what they were doing they might have tried removing the tiny screws with headlights in place and those screws and clips can be awkward to find if dropped into the headlight mounting box.
