Hi Fos, the sub-box is ideal for what I wanted which was primarily extra power points & switches. But has the added benefit of raising the cubby (with nice paddy lid) up to the perfect elbow height.
Photos now uploaded in my previous post. As for tyres... haha, Antony at Silverline nearly had me for a set of Blindo's, but the deal on the Bowler's was too good to turn down.
Should get them over the weekend, but the landy is in London for a bit. Depending on my willpower i'll either leave them off until nearer Christmas or get the on by the end of the week - Mrs may well have something to say if she sees 5 spare landy tyres sitting in the house mind you!! cozz - that in keswick green? looks good
next question - tyre choice?! BFG T/A KO (190 fitted) / Cooper AT3 (135) / Yokohama Geolanders (145)?! Leaning towards BFG, but she's generally going to be a road-going landy, with the occasional off-road use... any recommendations one way or another? Defender 90 Puma 2.4 |

Do you mean KO or the newer KO2?
Before Cupboard tells you.... The Cooper AT3 is a very good tyre see this article http://expeditionportal.com/where-the-rubber-meets-the-road/ Having read a lot and spoken to a few supplier and I'm sure the AT3 is probably the tyre I should go for for 95% on-road performance. But for me it just looks too road biased. I know you shouldn't choose a tyre based on looks but they do make such a difference. The AT3 also doesn't carry the snowflake (?) where the KO2's do (please double check). So my logic says for looks and a snowflake it's worth the extra! But I'm sure either would be great James MY2012 110 2.2TDCi XS SW Orkney Grey - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic43410.html MY1990 110 200TDi SW beautifully faded Portofino Red - https://www.defender2.net/forum/post743641.html#743641 MY1984 90 V8 Slate Grey - https://www.defender2.net/forum/post744557.html#744557 Instagram @suffolk_rovers |

afternoon! sounding like the mrs there!
think i'll be going with the BFG - saved on the wheel, so i can justify it it's the KO 2's - wear seems pretty good too, so makes sense i guess - certainly from the other posts, BFG's seem to last ages...(fingers crossed!) needless to say i'm getting them put on in the next week rather than next month! Great choice. I'm not sure you can get a better (looking) alloy & tyre combo
White letters on outside or inside though??? I agree - can't wait to get then on. Booked in for Monday provided tyres arrive in time.
I think inside - might be too 'busy' with white lettering, black tryes, antra' alloys and keswick paint...not that you're trying to sway my decision?! Defender 90 Puma 2.4 |
