Always wondered what are the 'rules' regarding using the cage itself as a rack?

I often see mud ladders tied to the sides of them, so why not a kayak on top? Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants...

Thanks,

the solution from SD is known.

My interest was to see if someone used a different as SD rack.

I emailed SD about this - while it might not answer your question exactly, it's related info:

Quote:
According to the Land Rover manual the maximum roof load is 150 kg, both our roll cages and roof racks are capable of holding more than this.

The RBL172 7SSS roll cage is manufactured with a small roof rack section on the rear, it is designed to hold smaller luggage without the need of a roof rack.

Amusingly, external 'roll cages' are illegal in Oz...

... That is why there are a lot of Defenders out here driving about with very well built 'roof racks'!!! Laughing YOLO... You Only Live Once...
