Finally now upgrading to heated seats, I'm planning on going oem. Has anybody used the mobilecenter loom?
http://www.mobilecentre.co.uk/index.php?ma...ddec05cb75 Other option is the FCX variant at £100 more?? http://www.fcx.co.uk/_p/prd1/2620831381/product/heated-seat-loom. Anybody used either? Plus is it another dash out job for the switches and associated wiring? Greg |

I used the mobile centre loom and it is ok. But I got the one that only had the plug for the switche as I sourced the seat plugs myself, and I got my switches of eBay though. £25 for the 2. They where of a disco and the right orientation to but I could only find them in black but that did not bother me.

Its all plug and play, no cutting no splicing. 2 relays go under the drivers seat, taking power from the fuse board in there. All cables are in convoluted tube, all with factory plugs on. Centre console out to piggy back the hazard button to give the switches and relays switched live and illumination, then correct left and right hand seat buttons with black and green molex plugs, another wire then down behind the fuse board (Td5) and join up to the harness under the seat again. There's a PDF on the FCX website (not viewable by mobile device) with full instructions, albeit puma but everything else is the same.
Took me about 2 hours in the dark just using a lead lamp. |

Any idea as to which of these wiring looms would be best to use for Mazda seats OR am I better off making my own?
Thanks Guy |

Just bought the MC loom (last night as it happens). These early dark morning dog walks have prioritised the warmth... Happy wife, happy...

Without seeing the connectors for the Mazda seats i wouldn't want to pass comment. Though I'm guessing they are just 2 wires? |

Copied form another thread I posted to;
I've only wired my drivers seat at the moment (passengers can just have cold bums). I wired both the motor/movement and heat to the same relay. Essentially, using a common earth and live. It's working on an ignition live to an illuminated switch by my hazards. I was lucky enough to get the male AND female connector for the seats too. This all goes back to my auxiliary fuse box with adequate fuse. My plan was to fit the relay with others in my ECU seat box... So as you can work out, I have to switch the heat on to make any seat adjustments, but that doesn't happen too often and is only for a few seconds when needed. Originally, when wired separately, I was finding the seat moving on it's own as the door card was interfering with the switches. I have since tidied the wiring and used heatshrink etc.* PIN OUTS Seat Motion Grey - 12v Purple - Ground Lumbar Yellow with Red trace - 12v White with Yellow trace - Ground Heat Blue - 12v Passenger Seat Heat Red - 12v Black - Ground Click image to enlarge * I'm lying. This was one of those quick jobs to 'see if it works' before doing a proper job. It's on the list... TD5 Defender 90 Discovery 3 HSE |

Hi Guy. Apologies I did not see this question. I bought the MC simple loom without switches. The switches I got of eBay for £30 from a Disco and in grey so the dash still looks proper. The seats (half leather items from a TDCI) work a treat, heat up quickly and I have to say is really fabulous on a cold damp morning. Wish I had done this mod years ago... If anyone would like photos I am happy to put some up. Cheers, Guy |
