Prompted by the many useful posts on this forum, I have taken the plunge..... Thumbs Up

Again, as a result of the posts I will be mounting it centrally in place of the rear washer jet, which I will relocate to the side like others have done (dictated by the pipe run). Sheep

The wiring hasn't been finalised yet but I'm leaning toward 2 way switching with a switch on the chubby and a switch in the rear speaker housing. This will be an auxiliary work light as opposed to a reverse light. Nudge nudge wink wink Shocked

I might add that although I have a single RDX lux LED reverse light fitted, I did feel a little vulnerable trying to reverse on some narrow Welsh country lanes late at night recently, and this may have also prompted my purchase Whistle

Whilst I'm on, very impressed with the price and the service from www.thexmod.com so thank you for those pointers and recommendations Thumbs Up Ordered very late on Sunday night and it was here when I got home today. Excellent service. Bow down

Screbble, one of the best mods going in my book. Thumbs Up

I spent ages trying to decide which way and where I wanted to mount the switch, finally settling on the steering cowl for ease when reversing "off the queens highway" Whistle accepting that I'd have to walk to the front to switch it on when a work light was needed.

Simplest means of wiring it in and on hand far more than inside the rear door. 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone

Thanks Rosco Thumbs Up

Having seen the increased light output and improved visibility on the photos on the other posts, I am very much looking forward to getting it installed. It'll be a late November job methinks which will allow me some more time to finalise the switching Thumbs Up

MOT on Friday and a few jobs to to do for that. I'm going to post on that specific subject shortly.

Fingers crossed for a pass with no advisories (as in previous years) and just hope I don't get a tester who shares the same thinking as the individual who caused Custom90steve unecessary stress.

How do you ensure there is no water ingress when you fit these lights? Is the a gasket available or do you use a mastic of some sort? 110 D250 SE HT

Walfy, there's a full size gasket supplied however it's my intention to also fit a grommet to the hole I'm using (ex-washer nozzle) and to apply sealant as appropriate. I'll be tapping the mounting holes and fitting a nyloc and penny washer on the back, again applying sealant.

Not sure what I'm doing with the relocated nozzle yet but again it will probably end up being a better seal than it was in its original location. Thumbs Up

There are plenty enough paths for the water to get in without me creating any more! Rolling with laughter

Couple of inside pics which may help someone in the future - before I put the upper trim panel back on which will allow me to refit the Nakatanenga gas structure back on and I can stop trapping my legs!

Nice job screbble, it looks very good though I must confess that I'm curious to see if the rear washer will spray on the rear glass when you're at speed in that position, the vagarities of Defender airflow being what they are.

Mo, what is this speed thing you talk of Rolling with laughter

Yes I anticipate a further mod with regard to the washer - albeit I have blatantly plagiarised the idea (and location) from my fellow forum members, so we may hear from them as to the efficiency Thumbs Up

Steve, yes indeed - I appear to have a seemingly endless supply of ss hardware due to another project I'm working on - and I have to get my money's worth out of my Tef Gel! Thumbs Up

It's all fitted and wired now (comparison photos later) however the saying night and day springs to mind Whistle

I love Defenders - I finished the job, moved it out of the garage, and the drivers electric window stopped working! Rolling with laughter

Nothing whatsoever to do with anything I'd been doing but the timing was quite amusing - as you'd expect - a broken wire within the gated/flexible conduit Thumbs Up

Mo, that's the same location I moved mine too when I did this mod, purely for the simple reason it would urk me too much having a button on the dash that didn't work.

I can honestly say in the two years I've owned the 110, I've never used the rear wiper, let alone the washer. Laughing 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone

There is indeed one in there somewhere amongst the detritus.

A 1979 Esprit S2 that I've owned for almost 30 years Neutral

Let's face it, I'm addicted to vehicles that begin with L, are thrown together, are noisy, and leak...... Rolling with laughter

It looks quite diddy compared to the Defender:
