Fan doesn't work - is there a quick guide to diagnosing/replacing it?

Usually it's the fan seized up. Remove the intake grille on top of the wing, put your hand in and try to rotate the fan. If it is very stiff or solid, spray a good spray of wd40 in and leave it for half an hour then loosen it up by rotating. It may take two or three attempts to get it free again.

If speed 1 has failed but it runs on speed 2, then the fan speed resistor has failed and needs replacement.

If the fan is free but doesnt work then you'll need to get your multimeter out and work back from the fan to the switch to find the cause. Worth noting as well that the switch switches the earth path.
