Interesting. Have you had it from new, so are certain it left the factory like that?
(not sure if this is the first 1st hand experience of a "normal" Defender having the rumoured nominal 150BHP map) |

I would have been skeptable if I had not witnessed it. The ECU was still locked so it had to be a factory tune at 141bhp.

Am I right in thinking that yours came off the line before any of the Heritages etc that were supposed to get the 150 map? |

After essentially 2 days and about 200 miles of very mixed driving I think the new map is very good. Feels softer on the throttle response at lower speeds and revs, no more holding revs through gears and very responsive when you need more power.
The torque is very impressive up hills and when you needs to gain progress without changing gear. But .. when you do push it through the gears its in relative terms very quick. Getting up to speed onto a fast A road or a motorway is now very easy. Going from, say, 60 to 70 is just a brief press of the pedal. For my style of mixed driving I am very impressed. Thanks Alive |
