If you're referring to the pulley then all I can say is good luck Whistle (should be fine by the way).

I took out a 2.25 diesel and had to get the pulley off, our impact hammer didn't touch it. Scaffolding poles simply flipped the engine over on the bench. In the end a mate with an engine driven compressor in his van and a 1" drive managed to get it off but only just.

Bear in mind they're done up to approx 250ft lbs (note ft lbs not Nm!, that upwards of 350Nm I think) then you have x years off it to get seized...

I'd be curious to see if my new 1500Nm impact hammer could get one off.. Ed

I've heard of people grinding the head off the bolt and then simply unscrewing the remains once the tension from the bolt on the pulley is off 2014 - current ..... 2003 defender td5 90 (my car)

Then again, lock the crankshaft with the correct tool and it might just come undone with a decent breaker bar (mine did). ONE LIFE, GET IT!

Got the same task. My 18v rattle gun won't touch it. Need that special tool! Mines to fit a mega squirt timing wheel behind the pulley.

That's the way I did my 200Tdi, lock the pulley against the chassis rail and a 2ft breaker bar with a 4ft scaffold pole extension Thumbs Up

there is a special tool that pics up on the 4 crank pulley bolts. the arm of this rests against the chassis. Cheers

Got the special tool for holding the pulley...
Tried with a facom breakerbar with a metal tube but the breaker bar bents...

I just rest a breaker bar against the chassis and blip the starter, easy way to do it but if done wrong it can cause damage if done incorrectly, I have seen people just place the socket/breaker bar on the bolt at any angle and try and hold it Rolling with laughter

I changed the bottom pulley on my Td5 recently.
I made up a section on angle iron that would rest on the floor and used a long breaker bar with an extension tube to get the correct leverage.
All worked with no major issues.
