At the end of the day it's your vehicle to do what you want with.
If you want to bolt on all the goodies, fill your boots.

But as mentioned on your previous post,

These will be few and far between in years to come in standard form.
And it's these vehicles that one day will be a desirable must own classics.
It won't happen over night, but one day....

Enjoy it, whatever your plan with it. Thumbs Up 80" 80" 86" 88" 90"

Thanks everyone. Lots of food for thought. I do like the idea of keeping it looking original, even if a few small mod cons such as sound proofing, new wheels, etc. might be in order.

I particularly like the idea of a tasteful bit of galvanising (bumper, cappings, etc.).

I'm in a similar position with my largely original '92 model. I love the unmolested look and plan to keep it that way, by and large. I've got no interest in shiny add-ons for their own sake or anything with 'KBX' in the description. I do plan to make some upgrades though, for comfort and/or reliability, such as sound proofing, rust prevention, wiring, etc., or utility such as a work light and a clock!

To me, the approach of adapting to suit a practical purpose is what owning Defender is all about. I reluctantly accept that others may have different views Laughing Darren

Keep the originality and keep it standard as you can.

Work out what you need it for and go from there.

I am in a similar sort of place with mine but because of a forced hand.

I use mine every day and it is within a few hundred quid of being exactly what I want, however now it is having a respray and some other work it is almost getting it to show condition. Which is not what I want.

What do you want from your 90? what do you want it to do? What do you want to do with it? Once you have answered those questions it makes it lot easier to work out what you want.

Hope it helps Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197
