Hi guys,
I was wondering if you know where or how to remove the white writing from the tyres such as these; Click image to enlarge Thanks Jack Last edited by Landie Boy on 7th Feb 2011 6:30pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Yep the white writing is only on one side. Just get them fitted so the white writing is on the inside and then buy some black tyre paint and slop a bit over the writing inside so you dont see it when the front wheels are in lock.

Find youself a multi storey car park that has enough headroom for the vehicle and a relative tight turn access to each floor, get the missus to drive it up and down from ground floor to top and back down again twice!!! Job jobbed, White lettering and any other identifying tyre wall writing gone!!!
Being from Essex I thought your query would relate to larger white lettering not getting rid!!! Joke by the way! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

no you're not ... I fitted mine with the white lettering on the inside ... and all my coworkers asked "why didn't you let the letters out? that would be cool!" so you're not alone! Ah well.... I'll accept my fate that I'm a chav for liking the white lettering. In fact I may go the whole hog..... How about white walled tyres with black lettering??
As for me being likened to a septic.... well... all I'll say is that at least I can spell tyres properly Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless. |

When i asked the fitter to put the side with the white lettering of my BFG. all terraines on the inside, he told me that the tyre wall was stronger on the side of the raised letters and that they should always be facing out! Is this true?

No difference, just the choice... Land Rover used to fit BFG all terrain in 265 on the Boost alloy from the TD5 launch and they had NO white lettering at all. Apparently BFG wanted a premium and that is why they went to GG TR. Price, that's all. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..
