I had a few minor mods to my Defender and therefore searched for insurance companies who cater for modified vehicles.
It turned out that mine wasnt modified enough to qualify for the discount that the "modified vehicle" cover offers! I was told that if I had more significant modifications such as a roll cage then they could give me a much better deal that a standard motor. I've now had a cage full external cage fitted but won't benefit from the different policy until next year. My overall height is now 2090mm with an empty tank and nobody in the vehicle. |

For me a cage is mandatory on a Defender and in general the first major accessory on the car if not factory fit. Not a single argument in our house and insurance has been notified about the addition of a 'roof rack system'. Saying that so far not a single hiccup with the police here in Melbourne despite living close to one of their main hubs. m

^^ excuse my ignorance but what would be the issue with police?
(p.s. love Melbourne, lived there 4 years recently, incl. Carlton Nth, close by you!) Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants... |
