Hi all,
In the process of respraying the roof of my 2015 Defender 90 s/w due to damage from the roof bars (i've removed the roof completely) and while I have the chance I've decided to remove the rear cappings and rustproof the this area. However, with riveting the rear cappings back on there are two styles of pop rivets and looking through workshop diagrams it only gives me one part number (RU612373L). The two style of rivets are one with a round edge and one with angle edge (see pictures). I'm hoping someone will be able to help identify each style of rivet with part numbers. Thanks in advance! Cheers, Tim |

I just replaced mine with off the shelf sealed ones!
Whatever you do make sure they're the ones that don't leave a hole in the middle. |

Is there a reason to not use sealed rivets for any body/capping application?

Hello good people,
I am reviving this old thread as I am still confused regarding side body pannel rivets. I have bought both 78248G and RU612373L type rivets for my 2002 TD5 and they just look the same to me (apart from the lenghth) - both are sealed type and the head looks identical: Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Here is my TD5 - I am not sure if unpainted and painted rivets are the same and which type they are?
