Defender Cigarette Lighter and Solar Panel Chargers
Can anyone confirm if the cigarette lighter in 2015 or 2016 Defender models still receives power from the battery even when the engine is switched off? I ask because I bought one of these solar powered panel trickle chargers and it appears to have drained the battery rather than keeping the battery charged up. My evidence suggests the solar panel is faulty because the battery was fully charged after a few long runs and another panel on another Defender appears to work fine after the car has sat for a long spell of not running.

Cant help on 15/16 year models, but the socket isn't live on a 12/13 model with the ignition switched off Sad
So I plug my solar panel into a permanent 12V cigarette llighter socket I wired into the right hand panel close to the rear door.
