I've still got the original one as the main starter battery on mine, not far off 15 years old now and used every day

I wouldn't be too upset at 8 years, dependent on your usage cycle. The best real test is a proper drop test.
In terms of replacements, stick with a half decent brand (varta, Bosch, yuasa etc) and pick the correct rating and you'll be fine. Unless you have a winch or spend long periods of time using accessories with the engine off, then you may want to think about your options a bit more! |

I would say genuine but i bought one to replace a 8year old original but it failed after 2 years, i swaped it for a oddasey 1700 2004 TD5 Defender 90 xs station wagon
