For those who like M-bikes, or future tech, BMW's new vision
BMW's vision for the motorbike of the future.

Highlights include no front wheel steering (done by the frame instead), no suspension or damping (damping done by the tyres, suspension by flex in the frame), zero emissions, and most notable of all the bike will not be able to fall over (although they're not clear how this will be achieved), so safe enough not to wear a helmet just info-goggles with HUD, and no need for a bike stand.

https://www.bmwgroup.com/en/next100.html

A very 'Tron-esque' video short. Not sure the rider is included with the bike if/when for sale. Sadly Big Cry

If anyone could do it, it would be Beemer. Certainly wouldn't trust some other manufacturers to come up with modern, electronically biased tech. HD, Buell or Moto Guzzi for example.... Whistle Monsieur Le Grenadier

Really? When was the last time you checked up on the tech of Harleys? Buell is hardly good reference material considering they are done and dusted having gone under in October 2009.

Harleys are actually ahead in the tech wizardry department in comparison to several other marques especially with the 2016/2017 ranges. As an electrical engineer I was quite pleasantly surprised when I bought mine. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Look up 'Project Livewire' they are way down the road to going into production with this. Would I buy one? Certainly not! I like being able to set off car alarms on quiet residential streets, loud pipes saves lives! Ride Safe! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

I've run a couple of BMW bikes (S1000RR, S1000R, S1000XR, K1200, K1300) and the biggest let down of all is the electronics. The current S1000RR goes into limp mode at even the tiniest bit of rain. Awesome bikes with rubbish electrics!!!

Can't fall over.....hope it'll go low enough for some knee down action!!!! Strong people are harder to kill and generally more useful!

That's very cool. Have they brought one to the UK for test rides? Have you had a go? Monsieur Le Grenadier

Crikey boys, I'll get my coat. Always thought BMW electrics were sound? Ho hum, you live and learn. Whistle

I ride a Triumph by the way, famous for their bullet proof electrics. Not waterproof or cold proof though, ha ha Rolling with laughter Monsieur Le Grenadier

Yes and no! They bought one to Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedford. Due to the nature of the venue and other vehicle manufacturers there testing prototypes cameras were banned but people did get the chance to have a go. Impressions of the torque delivery from the 300 volt motor and differing mode settings at the flick of a switch opinions are running very high apparently. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Their cars seem very reliable but in my experience the more tech bikes not so much! A mate has a 1200 GSA that hasn't given him any problems but the others are very poor!

I've a lot of time for Triumph. Dabbled with a new Speed Tripple on the way home last night but unfortunately for him I was on my ZZR 1400 so he didn't have much of a chance! Strong people are harder to kill and generally more useful!

Don,t say that to the Hells Angels and Mongols Laughing

The new 2017 Milwaukee 8 engine is pretty impressive, modern tech dampers and better ABS brakes on the 2017 Road King. Even non Harley enthusiasts give it impressive reviews. Not cheap at 19.5K though Red Dot as you say Sad

The likes of Victory and Indian are making Harley keep one step ahead. It Is about time they had some competition to make them develop there products more...

Victory have a very bad reputation for finish. The paintwork in particular the fenders rot out as soon as you look at them.
