Good old boy, bloody perfect assessment which just about sums up the reason I'm now running a Ranger instead of a Defender. Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

If it anything like their other recent models they will put on extra shifts and sell them faster than they can make them.. and won't really care if a few dozen people on the internet don't approve.
At least in the short term. I do wonder longer term what the loss of the Defender etc will do for their marketing image. I guess it comes down to whether people buy the mid range LR because of the association (shared DNA if you like) with the Defender or because of the top of the range FFRR. Despite what Defender owners would like to think - it is probably more likely the latter. Maybe. |

SO disappointed that the video was taken down!
Speaking to waiting for the new Defender... "I've known castrated bulls to come quicker" Hahahahaha! Now that's brilliant... wonder if JLR somehow got it pulled? LOL it's a Landrover thing... my renovation thread: http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic40792.html |

A real shame they're departing from their roots, but as the man says 'they have to go where the money is....'

Rangers are better then Defenders in some respects, but lower train weight if you're towing, lower speed limits when you're not towing and they're so damn big! |
