Multi fuel stove Fans - Anyone?
Hello

Always wanted a stove and when we moved the house we bought needed total renovation (lived in a touring caravan for 3 months...)

Anyway we now have 2 and I love them Smile especially as I forage lots of free wood throughout the year and see it as free heat Very Happy

Now last year my colleague bought a fan that sits on the top, circulates the heat better? it was an amazon deal thing, now they seem to be cheap anyway?

https://www.amazon.co.uk/4YourHome-Friendl...=stove+fan

I was looking at them but this make? ecofan but nearly 3 times the price

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Caframo-Ecofan-81...B009G1EV4K

My question, do any of you use one? Happy with it, is is worth paying the extra or (and reading the reviews it seems good) just go for the cheaper one and try it?

Thanks

Hi.
This topic has been discussed in huge detail over on the Disco3.co.uk Forum (another of Martins wonderful creations Thumbs Up ) - probably worth a search?

I am still skeptical about them but I may be in the minority! MY15.5 110XS CSW

I was looking at these myself recently and came across this one, looks the same as the one linked in the Amazon deal. Not so sure they would have any left now though - https://www.aldi.co.uk/p/72454/0

We have an Ecofan. I can't compare it to a cheaper one as it's the only one we've had, and we have had it since we installed the stove so can't really say how much difference it's made. We are pleased with it though - it's quiet and seems to do a good job of pushing the heat out into the living room.

Hi, I bought one from eBay for about £32 last year and it works brilliantly. You need to place it at the back of the woodburner and it really blows the heat out into the room.

This eBay item number: eBay Item No. 311526190708 looks almost identical, although it says it is the 2016 new design.

Hi,

I bought one from the Cheshire Show last year and it has been brilliant. Now have to leave all the doors open as it gets too hot. And that is with a house that has no insulation and a thatch that moves with the wind!!

They are good as without them you lose a lot of the heat up the chimney

Hi we've had an ecofan for a number of years now and it definitely makes a difference,it's silent in use,I think there are different sizes ours has a 9" fan and certainly moves the heat around into other rooms Thumbs Up Paul Tash n Barney

We have two Ecofans on the top of our 14kw wood burner.

They really work well, our living room is just under 50ft long and the fans certainly push the heat down the room.
We have had ours for three years, silent running and had no problems with them at all.
