Interesting that is the awning I saw stowed in France on a landy that started the whole thought process db950.

Looks good. How does it attach to the roof rack as I have the same rack...wasn't sure which of the many Fiamma fittings worked and how easy...? Proud to own 110XS TDCi SW..previously 90XS Td5 SW

I made my own brackets as Fiamma don't do any suitable really.
They took a bit of designing because not only did I want the awning removable but didn't want to drill into the rack either!
The brackets hook over the middle rail and held to the bottom rail with 'p' clips, the awning then hooks into a small section of awning rail on the bracket and bolts through at the bottom. The bends in the bracket make sure the the awning sits straight against the rack.
Hopefully the pics will make more sense!

Thanks!!
I'm not sure I'd ever duplicate them good enough!
I think a local fabricators would soon make up something better for you.

Thanks @Outlaw1

Those brackets look really nicely done - excellent work!
I'm interested as we are currently working on new brackets to allow us to mount our Ostrich Wing Awnings on the tubular LR racks.

i have the Tuff Trek 2.5 awning, i can assemble it myself in probably 2 minutes and same to put away, one man job, i do have the room for ti also, it's bolted direct to my roof rack as i ddin't need to brackets supplied, this way it sits tighter to the rack too. i bought it second hand.

I also have the room for it but have never set it up so no pictures of it.

There's a chap on the D2 forum just starting to sell awnings – don't know if they'd be any good for a 90/110 but his introductory price of £150 seems pretty good (another £150 for a room to match), and people who saw them at Peterborough are saying good things. Here's a pic he posted.

I'm guessing it's not canvas but still that's a amazingly low price!

So after lots of soul searching and deliberation I eventually went with the Tuff-Trek 2.5 m TT-A1 from Dara.
Also picked up the sun shade for the front more to act as a windbreak if required for more shelter.
Here are some piccies. Looking across the web it looks like the Tuff Trek one is very similar to the ARB style. Simple to put up...will try and link to a YouTube video if I can make that work... Shocked

To fit to the land rover expedition rack I went with some simple saddle bolts. A PITA to fit as quite fiddly but after pre sliding on the M6 bolts we managed to offer it up to two saddle clips per upright which is a bit overkill. It's not going anywhere fast... Very Happy
Will look at a more engineered solution to make it easier to take off over winter but for now ill just leave it fitted.... Whistle
Came well boxed

Front extension (optional extra) being slid in the channel...

Front extension comes with guys as well as two additional king poles to double total area but robably end up suing it as a windbreak as here..

First deployment in anger...not exactly sunny but kinda cool to sit under with a hot choccie... Whistle

Hope this might come in useful for anyone else out there looking. 2.5m was £245 but with added extension total of £330. But I liked the additional poles, guys, pegs with bags and even a ratchet 10mm socket spanner that all came with it...
