Quick question on wiring electric windows.
Hi all,

I have an aftermarket kit for my 110 which came with two reversing polarity rocker switches. I reckon i need to run a 2.5 mm feed to them via an ingnition switched relay and then direct to the motors. This does put the full load through the switches. I have lost the instructions and cannot find out much about the wiring except what terminal needs to go where. Does this sound normal or should I be trying to protect the switches with more relays?

Cheers

james

Without knowing what kit you have it is hard to advise, however I can say that genuine electric window motors and switches do not require a relay, so maybe your kit does not. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

Looks a good kit does the loom supplied come with relays if so use them if the loom does not then I would say none are required.
Either way this is step by step guide to fitting electric windows to a Defender with lots of Photos will guide you every step of the way...

Just follow the instructions in the link and you will not have any difficulty in fitting
