winter preventative maintenance
I am sure there was a thread on this but i cant seem to find it...

Does nyone know where it is - or have a pre winter guide for preventative maintenance.

It was dinitrol'ed last year but any tips would be useful...

I usually spray it off underneath and the panels to remove road film from the summer, then ACF 50 the rear member, all hinges, aerial slot, rear door stress points...

it does go offroad at least once or twice a week and gets muddy and covered in sheep poo...

what else should i be doing?

I change my spare summercoat for a spare wintercoat and make sure I have something to get the ice off the window. Do you need to do anything else? Roel

I always give it a mini service every month or so, top up fluids, grease props etc if you haven't done that in a while it will be worth doing, make sure your screen wash is correctly mixed so it doesn't freeze and ensure your coolant is also the correct ratio. A warm coat, some snacks/water a good torch with new batteries, gloves/hat, hi-viz.

As you have said you have had dinitrol applied it will be worth checking it over incase any bits are wearing thin and touch up as needed. 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html

And here is a guide how to remove the sheep poo from you truck.....

1. Mix half liter of liquid hand dishwashing detergent and half liter of white vinegar with two buckets of warm water.
2. Using a clean white cloth, sponge the poo remains with the detergent/vinegar solution.
3. Blot until the liquid is absorbed.
4. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 until the poo disappears or is no longer absorbed into the cloth.
5. If the poo remains, use an eye dropper to apply hydrogen peroxide, and then generously apply ammonia.
6. Sponge with cold water and blot dry.
7. Reapply Dinitrol

Thumbs Up

ACF50 under cappings etc and as others have suggested above.
I can definitely recommend Motul Apple wash from Opie for screen wash. No Guts, No Glory.
