Really impressed with the reverse and fog lights, found the items and I will be purchasing.
Is the existing wiring for the single reverse light sufficient to daisy chain the Scenelite SI8 from or do i need to add more wiring back to the front somehow? Also love the front lighting idea, i'm just terrified about taking my dash to bits... |

Thanks. I'm really pleased with how its turned out, working exactly as hoped.
I'm debating DRL's at the moment, but just not sure... Wiring wise, I routed a +/- through a convoluted tube across the rear crossmember to the opposite side for the extra reverse light. I then routed another +/- back through the same tube to do the same for the fog lights. Both picking up for the current lamp connectors so nothing going forwards. I used econoseal connectors to make the connections, but buying a 'Mud Stuff Piggy Back Loom' will save you a bit of work. Good luck! Coming to the end of a fantastic week away in West Wales. Thanks to the advice of Tiger & Gilarion I headed out to christen the machine on some proper LR terrain. Some pics attached so feel free to miss out the waffle!
Driving out onto the sands at Ynyslas beach was a good excuse to get 'offroad' under the pretense of a family picnic away from the crowds. Having said that the drizzle kept it quiet anyway! Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Having whet the appetite for more, I dumped the family (apart from bro-in-law) and headed up Happy Valley. I went East to West and straight away there was some good wash outs in the loose rocks caused by lots of overnight rain water. Anyway, no probs and was a great route. Felt interesting/challenging enough for a solo vehicle but in reality it didn't struggle in the slightest. Even the rock slab was tackled at tickover with the antistall doing its thing. Bro-in-law gobsmacked by what we were driving over as it was his first time away from tarmac. I let him have ago on some bits and he was wildly grinning everytime I looked over! Another convert. Fantastic photos and the 110 looks awesome - the scenery just suits the truck really well.
Those anthracite sawtooths and red recovery points on a bellyfender give a bit of a mean twist - very nice MY15 Aintree 110 SW - for sale - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic82781.html MY16 Santorini 90 HT - sold |

Cheers guys...
1 yr on and just had the 1st service. Despite the cost I'm still loving the truck. I've used it pretty much daily and its now at ~9k miles. They had to do a warranty repair on a leaky swivel seal but that's all so far so pretty satisfied all round. Quite a funny moment when I dropped it off, the service girl did a damage walk around before taking it away. She declared it was too dirty to spot any damage, so just wrote 'dirty' on the paperwork and made me sign it! Don't think the modern LR dealer is used to muddy Defenders anymore Anyway, when I collected it later (having spent a nice day in a Discovery Sport - background) they had got it all shiny again. Shame it won't last... Click image to enlarge Instagram: L90andy My 1984 Ninety: http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56071.html - SOLD! Good old guy salmon...they aren't too bad, but you need the right guy in service.
What was the damage? Ours will need one soon Mike |

I guess so. The problem with it being the 1st service, and no prior warranty visits is that I haven't had time to work out who's best nor build up a relationship. Suppose that's good though really!
After originally quoting £490, a bit of price wrangling later and they did it for £400. They wouldn't get any nearer to Duckworths quote of £360, but I didn't have the time nor inclination to drive that far for a £40 saving. Great looking truck and pictures Andy, would love to try mine out in Wales one day, bought my 110 from Duckworth and always receive A1 service from them, though only living 25 minutes from them helps.
Cheers Keith |

Thanks - i think ive had that argument with them before, but its been ages since ive needed to pay for a service. No idea why any service, let alone a defender one should be 490! Mike |

Love this truck Andy, and as has been mentioned, the anthracite really sets it off! Looks superb "in the wild" too!
