I have experienced the following in MY 2011 Puma 2.4 while on a recent trip to the Kalahari:
1. while travelling on a freeway at less than 100kmph the TC warning light came on. I stopped, swtched enging off and then restarted. TC light now off 2. A while later I noticed that when I braked, the headlight warning light came on. On checking I saw that the park lights came on when I braked. 3. Finally, when I switch the headlights on, the TC warning light cames on as well. Only way to get it off is to switch engine off and restart and not to use headlights! Any idea where the fault lies? |

Are you getting any fault codes?
Checked the wheel speed sensors? Checked all the earth straps? Sorry, not much help but will narrow things down... *EDIT* Also checked you don't have a blown light bulb? No error codes; all light bulbs functioning.
Will check earth straps and sensors shortly. All this occurred on day one of a 3 week trip as I was leaving Cape Town. We completed the the trip without any issues at all (including sand areas and rocky mountain passes). |

Perhaps it's something to do with the Kalahari ?
3 years ago while in the CKGR, was where my TC light started flashing. It was the drivers side front sensor that had rattled slightly loose, gave it a quick clean and simply pushed it all back together. Did get this error code: ABS-Brake Module P0571-13 (A  Unknown Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.

yep, sounds like a dodgy earth connection, make sure you check them all --

Thanks for all the tips ............. everyone points to earthing ............... tomorrow and the days thereafter, I'll be checking it all and removing half the Kalahari's sand out the vehicle!

Problem resolved ................ feedback
I have a plastic / flexible rubber cover over the trailer plug socket at the rear of the vehicle (not sure what the official name is!). As I do not tow anything I never remove this cover. Water ingress casued corrosion which in turn resulted in a short circuit. Two switches (micro type) had to be replaced (part no.'s LR 032955 and LR 032956). Cost of parts in ZAR 230-00 (about 15 to 17 British pounds). Needless to say, this "protective condom" has been dumped! Cheers |
