Good choice, that's whats coming for mine, well kinda sorta. when I finally get to rebuilding the bundle of spares that it has become.
RBL188, gonna have to slightly modify it as ive got no bulkhead but talked to SD, who were very helpful by the way and the Exmoor hood to fit. 3 Landrovers |

I see your build thread hasn't been updated
I'm aware most people become bored with build threads easily, but it's a great reference for when people do decide build something in the future. |

Been a bit side lined with other stuff, had a holiday and a couple of extra weeks on rotation at work, but mainly its just been ad hoc sanding prepping and painting the chassis right now, had hoped to be pulling the axles off for rebuild on this month off, but heading back to work a week early so that's likely to be end of October now before I get home still the extra time means extra cash to spend on it.
Biggest issue for me right now for planning is what to do about the engine, I've got an (as far as I can tell' solid TD5 but the plan for the rebuild was always a V8, Now.. I Want an LS3 and obviously that's more capital expense than a donor rover V8 but I know if I go for a Rover V8 the end result is never what I really wanted... /sigh. the other dilemma is I never intended to strip the bulkhead, but not doing it is already leaving me knowing i'll regret not getting to the front out riggers and chassis properly, so current feeling is to disconnect it but lift it do the chassis and then refit. Once I get past that lot I've a stuggle on paint choice, My wife really fancies a yellow one and i'm not so sure lol, had been thinking about raiding the Kawasaki paint catalogue for a lairy green but then again a genuine LR phoenix orange paint with black hood /drool. Anyway great to read your thread, I do love a good project Gary 3 Landrovers |

I was gonna build this with the original 3.5 and run it, the engine was going to be a 12 month stop gap, until an LS came along, but I got impatient and having seen a few LS engines mid build, I decided stick with Rover, just because I could use my existing auto box and new exhaust I'd bought.
I'll get an LS soon, though it won't be bolted in a Solihull built vehicle. As for colour, I'd take yellow out of your choices Click image to enlarge Just saying |
