I am beginning to think the engine is on its last legs now. Well something is on its last legs anyway Most nights I start it up here at work and drive out the yard and put my foot down, it make the usual horrendous noise coming from the engine and runs away at about 3 1/2 k revs (drives itself for about 25-35yrs) and then dies. Then it is ok. What is new is that when it did this before the management went into shut down or just stopped for good until recovery turned up. I am going to now carry my video camera so I can show it to the dealers as they just say they can’t do anything because it never does it in there charge. |

Boy nice looking truck , ran the same wheel and tyre set up on my 110 td5. only problem is - she will throw road spray and muck at you if you leave your window open and you will never keep her clean , they look better covered in muck anyway !!
Sorry to hear you still having problems. As you know mine had the replacement engine done under warranty. Only had it 6 weeks, engine light came on and went into limp home mode last week. Light out now but sounds rough on start up from cold again. have it booked in again on 17th. I reckon its the common rail fuel system as I have also had diesel leaks and faulty fuel switch ! Nidge. |

Nice to see someone has sence to fit the 285/75x16 tyres on 8.5J rims as BFGoodrich recommend between 7.5J-9.0J rim width, so 285's on a 7J rim is a little risky, you would need to keep pressures up a little I think.
We would not fit a 285 on a 7J wheel and nor shoud any other tyre fitter if he knows his stuff. Andy. www.ajstyres.co.uk www.ajs4x4.co.uk Andy. www.ajstyres.co.uk 01737 241370 Junction 8 M25 Surrey. |

Always have run BFG AT's on the jap stuff and landies i've had in the past so fitted 265/75 - 16 to the 110. If you are somewhere strange (Africa etc) and need a new tyre its easier to get a popular size. Got a great deal price wise too.
Had to go with General Grabber on the the D3 in a standard size and they are great but would have stuck to BFG's if they were available in the right size. Sometimes you have to get lost to find yourself www.comparethemeerkat.com 2002 Defender Td5 110 CSW Overland 2005 D3 TDV6 SE (for sale) |
