Would it not be easier to replace the roof for a standard one? After all it's only a couple of bolts and a friend to help you lift it on. Plus it's look much better than a welded sheet on there.
You could keep the current roof stored should you need to to comply with the regulation for any reason. Strong people are harder to kill and generally more useful! |

I thought about it. I went to a garage that is specialized in Land Rover preparation and the owner told me that a new roof cost around 6000 euros... I looked on the internet for a used one, but couldn't find it... if you know where I can get one without emptying my wallet, I'd think about it again...

Conan, if you can find one in the UK and fancy a holiday here, I'll help you change it over

For that kind of cash it would be worth taking a trip over for the Landy auto jumble at Newbury first weekend of October ?

Thanks all for the suggestions! I found a roof here in Belgium for 50 euros. It's a roof from a 110 that has already been shortened, but the job was very clean. I'm still going to fix mine though, just to see how it turns out. I'll take pictures and share them once the work is done.

My roof is done!! My uncle and I did it this weekend, but I haven't had the time to post some pictures. We built a structure in the inside and bolted an aluminum sheet on the outside. It's solid like a tank! But the pictures don't do it justice... Oh and never mind the cardboard pieces on the inside, those are gone now.
