I also have a 2001 Td5, though a 90. One day when its rotten, I will give mine a full rebuild, i'd use yours as a benchmark, fantastic job Great colour, though I am biased as mine is dark green 2001 Td5 CSW (weekend and snow mobile) Plenty of lights, M/T tyres EGR delete, roofrack, swing away wheel carrier, snorkel.

Well, mine is a kind of rolling renovation.
I've just gone to the KBX front grill with black mesh, which looks best with the trucklites. Next step is to replace rotting rear door with a puma rear door and have it painted gloss black as well as replace the bonnet with a later puma bonnet also sprayed gloss black. Thats where it will stay for this year. Early next year, probably spring time after they stop using road salt for the year I'll have it rechassised to a galvanised one and get the front bulk head done at the same time. Then it should be good to go for a long time. ---- 2020 Land Rover Defender 110 P300 SE 7 seat (current) 1984 Land Rover Series III 88” Hard Top (current) Previously: 2001 Land Rover Defender 110 TD5 Station Wagon (gone) 2001 Range Rover HSE 4.0 V8 P38 (gone) 2014 Land Rover Discovery 4 3.0 SDV6 (gone) 2009 Land Rover Discovery 3 2.7 TDV6 (gone) 2017 Land Rover Discovery Sport SD4 240 HSE (gone) |

This weekend I visited Romano's and we fitted the new puma bonnet that he had painted gloss black for me. We also replaced my rear door for a later puma style one-piece, with new interior door trim, which I had him paint gloss black as well. I'm going for the adventure look with the black wheels, black roof, black grill, black bonnet, black back door, and black wheel arches. I think it looks good.
At the same time as the KBX front grill and light surrounds went on, we also converted the fog and reverse lights to Wipac round LEDs. Additionally because its on 265 width tyres on the 16' LR Boost wheels, it needed 20mm wheel spacers to push the wheel out about to stop the front rubbing on full lock. So those were fitted too. That's it for all the cosmetic bits for this year. Time to just enjoy it. Next spring after the road salt, it will be new chassis and front bulkhead time! On road - they are excellent. Very secure, not particularly loud and quite absent of vagueness.
Off road - no real experience yet. ---- 2020 Land Rover Defender 110 P300 SE 7 seat (current) 1984 Land Rover Series III 88” Hard Top (current) Previously: 2001 Land Rover Defender 110 TD5 Station Wagon (gone) 2001 Range Rover HSE 4.0 V8 P38 (gone) 2014 Land Rover Discovery 4 3.0 SDV6 (gone) 2009 Land Rover Discovery 3 2.7 TDV6 (gone) 2017 Land Rover Discovery Sport SD4 240 HSE (gone) |
