Looks a Stunning location, might have to investigate Annecy, only spoilt by the Lycra
Weren't tempted to take the Sankey? We're similarly packed when camping, I do wish it was easier to remove the rear most seats would give so much extra room, but like you surprising often the kids want to use them. ^ Sorry about the MAMIL
Was going to take the Sankey if we were camping on the way and doing a route round Europe, in the end we pretty much drove to Annecy and spent time there. Good job as still a few jobs to do on the Sankey. Seats on my ML were much easier to remove and yes I would if that was the case but the kids see it as a real treat in the back Click image to enlarge |

We also went down to Ain/Savoie this year. Similar journey - Newark > Dover and then early ferry for a 600ml run down to Culoz. We had our twin axle Pegasus GT65 on the back but still managed an average 60mph. Fuel wasn't too bad either at 22mpg. We went over to Annecy but just for the day. Main reason for being in Culoz was to ride Le Grand Colombier and especially on Tour de France day!
If anyone is looking for a good campsite in the area I can recommend Camping le Vaugrais in Artemare Click image to enlarge |

Menthon St Bernard is within a few km of Annecy and a great place to stay on the edge of the lake.
