you need to google harder
Could be mistaken but looks like the usual old expensive plug in resistor box by the looks of it. http://www.dieselandpetroltuning.co.uk/product_info.php?page=all Last edited by camelman on 22nd Aug 2016 10:06pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Thanks CamelMan...I tried to think what the rest of the www. address was without luck.
In layman terms, what does it do ? I've now read the bumpf on the website - it does'nt say its a map but it does increase torque/bhp... Cheers, Superspoons |

Looks to me that this systems alters the pressure sensor data, giving the ecu the idea that the pressure is lower than it actually is as so the ecu will open the injectors longer and by this giving more diesel is more power.
I think it is more than a resistor otherwise your engine won't idle. Roel 1984 90 2.5 na Diesel - RR V8 (1994-2001) 1997 Camel Trophy Discovery 300TDI (2001-2009) 2005 G4 Discovery III 4.4 V8 (2008-2018) It's gone but it still hurts. 2003 90 Td5 (2009-now) |

Best to take it off. You don't know what it's doing to the engine and the earlier TD5 can be intolerant of high EGT for instance.
If you want more performance get a proper remap. |

Don't understand me wrong, I am not against a good remap, but what does a remap do?
The only answers is opening the injectors longer. You need more fuel to get more power. There are also reasonable good powerboxes. I don't know this box except for what you find on the web about it so I don't say anything about this box. But just to say don't use it get a proper remap is not a real answer. All powerboxes are made to fit the whole series off the engine it is made for so it is not dedicated to your engine, but to be honest how many "proper remaps" are really dedicated to your engine? I wouldn't use a powerbox to get the max out off a td5 so if you want 170 hp or more go to a real tuner and let him do the work completely, but if you do your research and want just a little more like what they call a stage 1 tune (Who defined that?) then a good powerbox might be an option. Yes I use a PSI powerbox and I am happy with it. I suggested to remove it as it's an unknown.
Also it has wires that are not connected. I guess what you say it right though, the tuning box will increase fuel delivery and that's also what a "remap" is doing. By "proper remap" l mean one done specifically on your vehicle rather than a generic one. I may try one as mine was "remapped" but it was not a success on my TD5 and l had to get it reset. Can you recommend one of the better tuning boxes? |

I have a PSI power box.
http://www.paddockspares.com/da4433-psi-po...anual.html Not cheap but I bought it second had for about €100,- I did some research, I like the working off this box. It doesn't change sensor values it just keeps the injectors open a little longer. I like also that I can switch it on and off so I only use it off-road. I am looking in the posibility to make a throttle switch so that it only works at full throttle.
