Many will probably say that RTC's aren't necessary and normally used to cover up problems.
I fitted mine in a moment of tartiness as the original LR one was 21 years old (probably) rusty as a rusty thing and I had my doubts as to whether it did anything. I love my RTC damper not only for looks but it does assist the centering if set up right. Just don't expect it to flick the wheels back to centre instantly. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper. In the last 2 and a bit years I have had three different steering dampers fitted
1- Ruined Genuine landrover one. Barely noticed the difference when I bent it banana shaped off roading- it had no damping left in it. 2- Munroe aftermarked (OEM) made a bit of a difference certainly after driving with NO damping 3- OME steering damper, came with a recent suspension upgrade. Prior to fitting this I was firmly in the 'how much difference can it actually make?' camp- now having a decent one I would say that yes, there definitely is a difference! I have driven a discovery with a lift and bigish tyres that had a RTC damper on it, the steering was very strange, I am not sure if this was a function of the RTC damper or just the fact that it had been lifted with crap cheap springs and had no corrected arms so the castor angle was all over the shop. I have a bilstein dampers all round on mine. Combined with super hd steering bars there is literally no bump steer at all.
