I won't be able to join for all of it, but would like to pop along for at least a portion of it, child dependent. I know the area well being not far away, and did a few on Tuesday night on the way back from collecting my 'new to me' 110...not a lot of water about, but I hear that is likely to change before the weekend.

No problem gjd73, just leave when you want. We will be stopping for tea and chat often and you could peal off at any one of those. Would be great to see your "new" Defender, does it have a name yet?

With both Rosco and Hairysteve, we will have a full trip of 6 cars. So you can both go if you wish. Just turn up on Sunday.

Cheers Merlin, that is good to know, I will be in touch before when I have a better idea. Ideally trying to get a source a new steering wheel beforehand too.

My daughter chose to call her Sue II or Sue too - we are not sure which one as she's only 4, but wanted to call her after the Disco 3 we've just got rid of.

We usually stop down a green road for a picnic, kettles on and sarnies out. I'll bring a cake for us to eat at the morning tea break. If ladies with us we stop at toilets when we can. Shewees optional!
