Region Specific
Why does this section (region specific) exclude South America?

I'm sure Eduardo would be the major contributor. But there are a very few (that I've met on my travels) who could also contribute.

Or did I miss it?

If you want to overland S. America it's very well worth it. The French, German, Swiss, Spanish and 1 Welsh couple all know it! One Life...Living it.

Not far from you in Argentina, Cafayate.

I have my head stuck in a bucket of wine and I'm not coming up for a breath of air until the bucket is empty!

It is not (as suggested) excluded on purpose. I am open to suggestions for missing/additional forum sections Wink  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Sorry Martin, I didn't mean to imply it was intentional Rolling Eyes
Now that the UK are coming out of Europe, is it out geographically as well? If so, the new continent of UK may need to be added too Very Happy One Life...Living it.

Martin,

At least from my side i'm not think that South America was forgotten on purpose. I know that only maybe 2 or 3 "Southamericans" (or maybe less now) participates actively in the forum and I understand that this is not enough to open a special section to talking between us (for that I have another forums).

But, taking in account that some members expressed their desire to travel down here, (and some already do it) will be good to have an special section dedicated to this region. (Just a wishful thinkingl)

Cheers! Eduardo

What, please, are the SouthAmerican forums Eduardo?

I need to have some work done either in Argentina or when I cross over to Santiago. Parts will need to be ordered so a general mechanic probably won't help.

Are you in Santiago? I'll buy you a beer if you are. And if you can find me cider there, I'll buy you drinks all night Thumbs Up

Cheers

MagnersMick

Several forums available:
In Argentina www.landroverclub.com.ar: Be carefully there, some of them are quite picky with the British due the Falkland/Malvinas issue. Also is a plus if you can write in spanish

In Chile you have 2: www.landroverclub.cl and www.lrclub.cl both very friendly

I'm based in Santiago, so not problem to help you. I can put you in contact with a LR mechanic here and you have also the main dealer located in Santiago (www.ditecautomoviles.cl) but the bill can cost you one arm and probably 2 legs.

Also you have a very good workshop in Argentina down to the south (Puerto Madryn) but if you are in a hurry maybe the guys in the Argentinean forum can help you with some address in the North or in Buenos Aires. But remember that the imports duties in Argentina can be very high compared with Chile, so probably you will pay an extra money.

If you need some special spares you can send me a list to see if are available locally. If not will be a good idea to order the pieces with 1 1/2 - 2 weeks in advance to have the time to be shipped and clear the customs and to do not loss to much time waiting for it in Santiago.

Which brand of cider you prefer? Laughing Laughing Laughing
Or maybe a local one?

Cheers Eduardo

Thanks Eduardo,

I'll try to find that local cider at every possible opportunity Razz

I have some parts with me...I started out with lots but had a few problems along the way so used quite a few! I don't think she needs major parts and hopefully it can wait until we reach Santiago. The Landrover mechanic sounds like the best option (not main dealer as its a 300tdi so they'll have difficulty in plugging their computer into her Laughing )

Cheers for now
