+1 for Ikea. We used Ikea for our kitchen when we remodelled the house - the garage became the kitchen. Went to MFI first and they wanted £12000 WITHOUT appliances and worktop. They went bust a few months later - I wonder why?

Went to Ikea and got the whole shebang, units, worktop, white goods other than fridges for £3500. It was all delivered when they said it would be and with nothing missing. It fitted together perfectly and the only professional help we got was to cut the worktop. It looks as good now as when it was installed 8 years ago. Just fitted another set in a small kitchen we have put in the summerhouse.

We also went to MFI to buy our kitchen, they had already designed it all on a previous visit so we just wanted to pay.

Spoke to a young person at the counter to be told " sorry all the sales staff are in a sales training meeting, can you come back later " Never did and yes they went bust shortly after.

I got ours in the end from a local independent as ex showroom and when it was delivered the sink was cracked so they replaced it free of charge ,a nice Kholer sink with Villeroy and Boch taps . All fitted by a very good fitter with a fair bit of adjustment needed. Still looks good now after 8 years. HR064 Hampshire and Berkshire 4x4 Response
