July Part 2
Late July I drove the 110 down to a friend's workshop near Leamington Spa. We did a full DIY Dinitrol of the chasis and underbody. I've covered this in another thread so I won't go into details here. It was messy but I'm quite pleased with the way it turned out.

July, Part 2a
The 110 came with a few loose parts in the back. There was a set of windscreen wiper blades, grill and light surrounds in silver and a pair of aftermarket fire and ice side steps.

I cleaned and polished the side steps the first weekend we had the truck but I wasn't able to figure out how to mount them.

My friend, an engineer at JLR and a Defender expert, fitted them for me. I would have gone for a little less bling, but I already had these so on they went.

We also discovered a set of wheel spacers behind the steel wheels. Rather than remove the spacers, we adjusted the locks to get a little tighter turning circle.

This past weekend:

I fished out a broken captive nut I suspected was sitting at the bottom of the A-pillar.

I fixed a problem with the rear door check.
I sprayed Dinitrol into the A-pillars and the rear door:

I replaced rusty bolts on the rear door and spare wheel carrier with parts from my SS kit.

and I did this:

I noticed the backup light stopped working, but I haven't had a chance to check anything yet.

This past weekend I spent a few hours troubleshooting a fault with the reversing light and rear park assist.

Our Defender has a alphamotiva rear park assist. The park assist is powered by the reverse light.

My first instinct was to check for a bad install and loose wire. No luck. It was done professionally. They made up a harness that plugged into the original light socket. I plugged the rear fog lamp into reverse socket - no light...

I did some other basic troubleshooting at the back of the car and i checked for power at the fuse. All good.

With today's warm weather, the park assist and reverse light started working. That sure sounds like a sticking reverse switch to me. I'll be checking that next.

Might not get a change to do any work this weekend or next. Doesn't look like the easiest job either.
