| [For Sale] 300tdi disco with a problem, | |
Hi all, on behalf of an acquaintance I'm advertising his 1997 300tdi disco, auto, red in colour,
It's "used" in overall appearance, but not abused or chopped about in an off road way,
He mainly uses it as a second car for dump runs etc,
Anyhow, the problem is ---- it won't start !
I have taken a look at it and tried a few things as listed below,
New fuel stop solenoid, as the last one was tested out of the pump and was caput, - still won't start !
New alarm unit and matching key fob, - still no start,
It has a good 12v feed to the solenoid even when car King,
It also has about half a tank of fuel 
If I spray a bit of "fuel" directly into the air intakes it will fire for a few seconds,
Cracked of an injector pipe whilst cranking and no fuel coming out of it,
Did a bit more googling and it appears the spider units are a bit troublesome,
So I ordered a bypass plug jobby , pulled out the centre dash - ----- and it has no spider unit fitted from new 
So that's how it sits, await for a fix,
It's located between basingstoke and Alton,
It will need fixing or trailer img away for the obvious reasons,
It was used reliably until this current issue,and will have a MOT ( not sure how long though )
