October is 'Snow Queen and King' time. Called such for the colour of their hair, the pensioners that wait until all the kids are back at school and prices have dropped to take advantage of a late cheap break.
As long as the kids can entertain themselves as there will be few if any other children about, certain attractions will close but the cultural ones will remain open. October northern Greece 'weather average' as shown below will be about 18 degrees. http://www.holiday-weather.com/country/greece/ If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

October is a very good time to visit northern Greece but the weather can be interesting. It really depends on wether you are going to visit mountainous areas or seaside areas.
Most organised camping sites will be closed but it will be very easy for you to free camp. Free camping is not officially allowed but in real life it is allowed and tolerated by the authorities. I dont't know what kind of trip you are planning to do but if you have any specific questions I am happy to help. Mike |

Not sure about mainland Greece, but just back from Corfu today having spent 7 days over there.
Weather has been changeable, typically the best weather was today, had some huge thunder storms which were entertaining and a couple of pretty fine days!!, Temperature ranged from 19 to 25. I did notice that prices are now comparible with the UK for most things !! |
