For all those who have wished Hollie well, here is an update.
I have not had those drinks, I wanted to, but my head is not yet ready to enjoy a discharge from the anxiety that I feel, and I need to keep a clear head at least until Monday. For those who have written to me by private emails who have children with needs you will know what I mean. Tonight I have been back to the hospital and Hollie is fine, she is still groggy with the anaesthetic but has had fluids and is doing fine. My wife who I have also worried about is also much more stress-free, and I am staying in the accommodation provided with her tonight,, She is a great wife and mum, and I know how lucky I am to have her as my partner, that is why I married her, obviously through love, but more than that as the saying goes, she is my rock and without her I would be a lesser person. I have showed my wife all the good will messages you have sent on my iPad, and she was moved to tears, that so many people she has never met should bother to send such messages in support, and to think of her daughter in such ways made her say, who are these people on your commuter forum, do you know them, are they your friends. And I had to say no I do not, but I wish I did, for these people are good people (but I already knew that) for I have read their posts over the years. I am writing this in an accommodation provide by the NHS, it is excellent, but some of the parents who are also in this block who I have talked to are in a lot worse state than my wife and I, their children have illnesses that they may not recover from, cancer and the like and a young child who was admitted who has been involved in a road accident and is in a critical condition and his parents who are beside themselves. It makes one think that life is so unfair, children should not suffer in this way, they should be happy playing and looking forward to a life full of joy, but I have seen in this hospital this is not always the case, as I have witnessed some kids in these wards do not have this joy, instead they are in pain, with tubes stuck in them and are so removed from what a normal childhood is it brings tears to my eyes. I am lucky my daughter has had the best care in the world, her surgeons are world class and I do not know how to thank them enough. Professor Galasko, who came out of retirement to advise, I cannot thank enough, and I would give him my Defender as payment if he asked for such so you know how much I value him. I would also like to thank Specsavers and all who use them on this forum, who in their TV adverts do not go on what they do for our children in our hospitals with their profits but believe me it is massive. I will never know if your wishes helped, I think they did, I really do, so all I can say is thank you so much, just a little thinking of my daughter may have helped so much and for those who gave prayers also thank you , you will never know how much.
