Many, many, thanks to all of you that have expressed concern and wished Hollie and my family well.
Hollie had her operation today she went down to theatre at nine ‘o’ clock and I am very glad to report that the surgeons told me all went well and that no complications arose with the procedure they performed. The operation though scheduled for four hours took less than that time and at first I thought that was bad news but on the contrary it was in fact very good. Hollie will stay in intensive care for forty eight hours to be on the safe side and if all goes according to the care plan she will be transferred into a general surgical ward on Monday. To say I am relieved that this procedure went well and the operation is over, well you can imagine. Hollie is still under the effects of the anaesthetic, but she has come round and all the initial tests have been positive and Hollie should make a full recovery. Her face and nose is a swollen and red where they performed the surgery but we have been told within a week all the swelling will have disappeared. Again thank you so very much for your support it has been a great comfort over the last few days, at times a kindness from strangers is worth its weight in gold. I have been in a bit of a dream world today and the hours that Hollie spent in the operating theatre were the longest hours I have spent, my wife deals with these things a lot better than I do. I am feeling much more confident tonight and I am going to have a few stiff drinks later on to unwind, what a week. Very good news. Must admit I was getting a bit concerned that we had not heard, but there again you would have had other things on your mind then reporting back to the forum.
So hopefully Hollie will be back home soon and normal family life resumed. Brendan |
